Olga Elena
Garza
Feb 15, 1955 — Sep 20, 2026
Olga Elena Garza, born on February 15, 1955, passed away on September 20, 2026. She will be remembered with deep love by those who knew her and by the family who shared in her life.
Olga spent many years working at Benavides ISD in the cafeteria and as a teacher’s aide. She also worked at Luby’s in San Antonio. Through her work and daily life, she touched those around her with warmth, dedication, and kindness.
Olga was a woman of faith whose warm spirit touched many. She loved to sing and especially loved Selena’s music. She had a good sense of humor that brought light to those around her, and she enjoyed playing Bingo and had a special fondness for purple. These simple joys, along with her faithful heart, helped define the way she moved through life and the way she will be remembered.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Garza, and by her grandsons, Noah Rivera, Elijah Rivera, and Nicolas Lichtenberger, who were among the great blessings of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Emma Garza, Alma Garza, and Janie Mendiola and Ralph, and by her brothers, Carlos Garza, Oscar Garza, and Clarence Garza and Dalia. Their bond as a family remains part of Olga’s lasting legacy.
Olga was preceded in death by her mother, Elida Garza; her father, Amando Garza; her sister, Diana Rodriguez; her brother, Joe Garza; her maternal grandparents, Feliberto and Paula Balderas; her paternal grandfather, Clarencio Garza; and her paternal grandmother, Juanita Elizondo. Their memory remained part of the family story that shaped her life.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Francisco Rivera, Elijah Rivera, Nicholas Lichtenberger, Garrett Blair, Matthew Buentello, and Rene Garcia.
Olga Elena Garza will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered for her faith, her laughter, her love of music, and the joy she found in the people around her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who loved her.
