Olivero Mata

Olivero Mata, born to Juan and Celida Arce Mata on April 15, 1951 in Premont, TX, passed away on November 22, 2018 at the age of 67. Olivero loved his family, game fowl, BBQ’n and his Dallas Cowboys. He was an employed by Celanese for over 40 years as an Insulation and OSHA foreman. He was very loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Olivero is proceeded in death by his parents; one sister, Victoria Gomez; and three brothers, Juan Mata Jr., Raul Mata Sr., and Adrian Mata.

Olivero is survived by the mother of his children, Amanda Martinez Mata; two daughters, Sonia M. Gonzalez (Servando), and Melinda Mata; one son, Sergio “Surge” Mata; one sister Aurora Mata; three brothers, Homero Mata Sr., Oscar Mata, and Audencio Mata; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers, Servando Gonzalez Sr., Servando Gonzalez Jr., Seth Daniel Gonzalez, Juan Adrian Mata, Benjamin Mata, and Edward Mata. Honorary Pallbearer, Sergio “Surg” Mata.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 7, 2018, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St. Alice, TX; with a Chapel service to be held at 11:00 AM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 12:00 PM to Roberson Collins Cemetery in Alice, TX.
