Orlando R. Martinez

Orlando Robles Martinez, a veteran of the Vietnam War and longtime resident of Corpus Christi, passed away on December 24, 2022.

Shortly after graduating from Flour Bluff High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After completing his time in the military, he began his career as a civilian helicopter worker at Corpus Christi Army Depot.

He enjoyed cheering for the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys and loved listening to Tejano music. Orlando will be dearly missed by the ones who knew and loved him.

Orlando is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Robles Martinez and Martha Aranda Martinez, and two brothers, Homer Martinez and Eriberto Martinez.

He is survived by his sister, Gloria Fonseca; brothers, Pete and Lupe Martinez; wife, Dora B. Martinez;   children, Orlando Martinez (Keri), Laura Aguilar (Steve), and Cynthia Penzenik(Steven); and grandchildren, Brianna Martinez, Omar Martinez,  Nolan Penzenik, and Lincoln Penzenik.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave.; with a Prayer Service to be recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM with a chapel service to follow 9:30 AM at Treviño Funeral Home. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 10:30 AM for Rite of Committal and Interment at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
