Oudilia Acevedo, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, at the age of 74, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on June 25, 1949, in Kingsville, Texas, Oudilia's life was a tapestry of joy, kindness, and humor that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Oudilia's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jose Luis Ruiz; their cherished children, Belinda Acevedo (Beto), Jo Ann Huichapa (Jose), Angelica Mireles (Macario), Dorothy Acevedo, Valen Acevedo (Edgar), Joey Acevedo Jr. (Joann), Jesus Acevedo (Jessica), Peter Acevedo (Melissa), and Omar Acevedo (Bonnie); 40 grandhchildren and 51 great grandchildren. Each of her children were a testament to the love and care she poured into her role as a mother. Her life was one of engagement and enjoyment, with her love for playing American bingo and loteria being well-known among her friends and family. These games were not just pastimes for Oudilia; they were a way for her to connect with others, share laughter, and create lasting memories. Those who knew Oudilia will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and humor. She had an uncanny ability to light up a room with her presence and to make everyone feel welcome and cherished. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit was generous, and her heart was as big as Texas. Oudilia's legacy is one of love and laughter, a legacy that will be carried on through the stories shared by her family and the countless lives she touched. Oudilia’s family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM and services will conclude in the Chapel that evening.
