Ovidio Palacios, age 85, passed away on December 15, 2015. Ovidio was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather; he was a welder and a crafty handyman. He was a Korean War Veteran and served in Germany in the armored tank division. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Julia Serrato Palacios; son, Alfred S. Palacios; step-daughter, Eudelia Soto; and granddaughter, Amber Christine Palacios. Ovidio leaves behind his step-son, Ricardo S. Garcia; children: Gilbert S. (Belinda) Palacios, Grace P. Dickey, Sylvia P. Benitez, Leo (Evelyn) Palacios, Rene Palacios, Debbie P. Hernandez (Joe Torres), David (Angelita) Palacios; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Olga P. Samaniego; brother, Ray Palacios; numerous nephews, and nieces. The family will be receiving friends at 3006 Niagara at Port on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4 pm to 9 pm; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6 pm. A funeral chapel service will be held at Trevino Funeral Home on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10 am; burial will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
