Pedro Garcia

Pedro S. Garcia passed away at the age of 84, on Tuesday October 25, 2022. He was born in Palito Blanco, Texas to Pedro G. and Estefana S. Garcia on September 19, 1938.

Pedro graduated from the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco High School in 1957, and soon after started working for Brown & Root, Inc in the oilfield. In October 1961, Pedro was drafted into the U.S. Army, trained in Fort Carson, Colorado and was then stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington, D.C. Pedro also served in Berlin during the Berlin crisis. After serving two years he was Honorably discharged with the rank of E-4. For the next forty years he worked for Brown & Root Inc. and retired in 1998 as District Superintendent. After two months he was called back to Brown & Root Inc. to work on a special project in Columbia, South America, where he worked for seven months, after returning he went to work for J. Soliz Welding and Maintenance Services until 2006 when he finally retired.

Pedro is proceeded in death by his parents Pedro G. and Estefana S. Garcia; sisters Esperanza “Polly” G. Shaver and Ramona “Mona” G. Gonzalez; step-son Hank Garza; and step-daughter Roxanne L. Santos.

Pedro is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Lucia G. Garcia; son Pedro “Pete” (Brunilda S.) Garcia; daughter Laura Mia G. (Robert) Cabrera; grandchildren Pete Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Yesenia Lucia Cabrera and Peyton Mia Garcia.

The family will receive condolences on Friday October 28, 2022 at Trevino Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM; with rosary to be recited at 1:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 2:00 PM to St. Peter Catholic Church in Ben Bolt, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow with full Military Honors at Las Calaveras Cemetery

Honoring Pedro as pallbearers are Pete Garcia, Matthew Garcia Federico Gonzalez III, Joseph Gonzalez, Ramiro Gonzalez, and John Sanchez.
