Raymond Salinas, Jr.

Raymond Salinas Jr., a cherished family man, and respected member of the Corpus Christi community, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on November 11, 1948, in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. Raymond was the beloved son of the late Raymond Cortez Salinas Sr. and Anna Maria Salinas. He was also preceded in death by his dear sister, Sadie De Hoyos (Jesse). His memory will be treasured by his surviving sisters, Julia Esquivel (Samuel), Mary Garcia (Ernest), and Teresa Salas (Hidalgo), who will miss his guidance and unwavering support. A proud father, Raymond is survived by his three sons, Raymond Salinas III, Jeffery Salinas, and Daniel Flores (Leticia). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jordan Salinas, Roxanne Salinas, Hannah Salinas, Hailey Salinas, Summer Rae Salinas, and Nova Grey Flores, as well as his great-grandchildren, Viviana Salinas and Donavan Salinas, who brought immense joy to his later years. Raymond was a man of intellect and passion. He graduated from Del Mar College with an Associate of Arts degree, which opened doors to a fulfilling career and set an example for his family about the value of education. His love for learning and culture was a cornerstone of his character, and he often shared this passion with those around him. As we say goodbye to Raymond Salinas Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived. His spirit, characterized by love, compassion, and dedication to his family, will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He was a man who made a difference simply by being himself, and his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.

A Memorial Service honoring Raymond’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at St. Pius Catholic Church. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:30 AM, with a Memorial Mass to begin at 12:00 PM. Rite of Committal and Inurnment with Full Military Honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
