Reynaldo Rivas Sr, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at the age of 85. Reynaldo was born on July 4, 1937, to his parents, Antonio and Guadalupe Rivas. Reynaldo had a strong faith and trust in God and was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was dearly love and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Reynaldo worked in the meat department at Piggly Wiggly, HEB, and Food Land Grocery Store and Retired from Kroger; and lastly he work at Super S in George West, Texas. He had a wonderful sense of humor, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he was kind, generous, and attentive to the needs of those who needed help. He was a faithful and devoted employee who taught his sons the values of respect, word of honor, being trustworthy, and family unity. He also enjoyed listening to music, dancing, family gatherings, and seeing his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, play.
Reynaldo is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Guadalupe Rivas, and his siblings, Lydia (Lauro) Barrera, Bertha (Beto) Naranjo, Angelita (Lupe) Sanchez, Oscar (Noemi) Rivas, Gilberto (Jesusa) Rivas, Hector Rivas, Margarita (Oscar) Ramirez, and Jesus (Alicia) Rivas.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Maria Olga Rivas; his sons, Reynaldo (Janie) Rivas Jr, Antonio Rivas, Ronald Rivas, and Michael Lee Rivas; granddaughter, Veronica Rivas; grandson, Reynaldo “Tres” Rivas III; and sister, Elia (Willie) Ybarra.
Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 801 South Reynolds St., Alice, Texas, on Saturday January 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
