Ricardo M. Martinez

Ricardo Martinez (Mi Palomito) born August 7, 1963 to Juan A. and Guadalupe Martinez in Alice, TX, passed away on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at his residence in San Diego, TX, at the age of 54. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, music, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his parents, Juan A. and Guadalupe Martinez; his son, Ricardo Rene Martinez; his grandson Jose R. Gonzalez, Jr.; and two brothers, Samuel Martinez and Arnoldo Martinez.

Survivors left to cherish his memories are his wife, Geraldita Luera Martinez of San Diego; two daughters, Lizette (Joe) Gonzalez of Alice, and Kathy (Emilio) Pena of San Diego; three brothers, David (Rachel) Martinez of Falfurrias, Rolando Martinez, and Juan Martinez of Alice; six sisters, Jane Chavarria, Norma Martinez, of Alice, Consuelo Everett of Kingsville, Sylvia (Rolando) Chavera of Alice, Gloria (Dick) Everett of George West, and Amanda (Olivero) Mata of Alice; six grandchildren, Roberto Torres, Jr., Josette Gonzalez, Joselynn Gonzalez, Jiselle R. Martinez, Jordynn Martinez, and Mason Pena; one great- grandson, Jose R. Gonzalez III; and numerous nieces and nephews

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., from 9 to 11 AM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 10 AM. A Funeral Cortége will depart the funeral home at 11 AM to San Diego Cemetery where a Rite of Committal and Interment of Cremains will be celebrated at 11:30 AM.
