Ricardo Martinez

Ricardo Martinez, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 11, 2023, in San Diego, Texas. Born on January 21, 1966, in Dallas, Texas to Elias and Dora Martinez, Ricardo lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service to his community. Ricardo pursued his desire to serve and protect his community by attending the Police Academy School. He then worked as a Law Enforcement Officer in Duval County, San Diego, Texas, where he was known for his dedication, bravery, and commitment to justice. Ricardo's passion for service extended beyond his community to include the animal kingdom, leading him to attend Michigan Veterinary/Grooming Technician School. He later owned a small business known as Rick's Elite Grooming in Colorado, and then move his business to his hometown in San Diego, Texas, which was recognized in the top 10 Magazines as the best Pet Groomer. Ricardo was a man who found joy in the simplest things in life. His love for animals was evident from a young age, as he would often help his mother take care of the farm animals and pets. This love translated into his business, where he took immense pride in caring for and grooming animals. Ricardo was not just a business owner but a pillar in his community. He was known for his generosity, often providing jobs and guidance for those in need. He had a knack for making people laugh, and his thoughtful nature made him a cherished figure within his community. Family was Ricardo's number one priority. He was proceeded in death by his parents Elias and Dora Martinez; siblings, Frank Martinez, Oscar (Wanda) Martinez, Guadalupe (Antonio) Moreno, Isabel Torres, Consuelo Martinez; and mother of his children, Sherry Lynn Geer. He is survived by his son, Christopher Adam (Tonya Denise) Martinez; daughter, Angela Marie (Micah Orion) James; grandchildren, Christopher Adam Martinez Jr., Elliana Martinez, Samuel Martinez, Rickardo Martinez, and Zoie James; siblings, Elias (Maria) Martinez Jr., Federico Martinez, John (Celia) Martinez, Rosa Charles, Linda Martinez, Kimberly Martinez, and Rudy Martinez. Ricardo also leaves behind numerous cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will miss him greatly. Ricardo's legacy is one of love, service, and dedication. He was the epitome of a man who lived his life for others, always putting the needs of his family, friends, and community before his own. His laughter was infectious, his generosity boundless, and his thoughtfulness touched everyone he met. Ricardo Martinez will be remembered not just for the roles he played – a devoted father, a loving grandfather, a caring brother, and a loyal friend – but for the incredible man that he was. His memory will continue to inspire and guide all those who were fortunate to know him. Ricardo's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of community. His spirit, his values, and his love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His passing is not an end, but a continuation of the love and joy he brought into the world. Ricardo Martinez, your memory will forever be a beacon of light in our lives.
