Ricardo Villarreal, a faithful servant of the Lord, entered into the presence of his Savior on January 23, 2025, passing away peacefully at his home in Corpus Christi, TX. Ricardo was a cornerstone of strength and unwavering faith for his family, his church, and everyone blessed to call him a friend.
Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Ricardo’s life was a testament to love, devotion, and humility. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rogelio and Estella Villarreal, and his beloved sisters, Aurora and Patricia Villarreal.
Ricardo’s legacy of selfless love and steadfast faith lives on through his wife, Cindy Villarreal, and his children: Ricardo L. (Lisa) Villarreal, Anna (Tom) Major, Rebeca (Josue) Pinon, Amber Click, Hannah (Leo) Garcia, and Daniel (Lauren) Villarreal, along with his remaining living siblings: Rogelio (Mary) Villarreal, Maria Antonieta Villanueva, and Robert (Laura) Villarreal. He was the proud and loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom he deeply loved and prayed for faithfully.
An active member of Travis Baptist Church, Ricardo served with a heart full of joy as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and volunteer in countless other ways. He radiated God’s love through his actions and his voice, often lifting hymns of praise that reflected the deep well of his faith.
Ricardo was a proud patriot, serving his country with honor in the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard. His love for the red, white, and blue was as steadfast as his commitment to his faith and family.
He found joy in the simple but meaningful moments of life—sharing breakfast with Cindy at Kiko’s, spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, and marveling at God’s creation. And, of course, he rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy a NASCAR race or sing a beloved hymn.
To those who knew him, Ricardo was the embodiment of loyalty, hard work, and selflessness. His kind spirit, ready prayers, and heartfelt words of scripture uplifted many, and his presence was a comforting reminder of God’s steadfast love.
While Ricardo will be deeply missed, his family and friends rejoice in knowing he is now singing with the heavenly choir at the feet of the Lord he so faithfully served.
Ricardo’s family warmly invites friends and loved ones to honor his life and legacy on Monday, February 3rd.
Condolences may be shared between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, with visitation at Travis Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A heartfelt celebration of Ricardo’s life will follow at the church from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, reflecting his faith, love, and enduring impact. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, where we will lay him to rest with the dignity and honor befitting his life of service and devotion.
