Richard Shawn Allen

Richard S. Allen passed away on January 14, 2021 at the age of 37.  He was a wonderful husband and father, a beloved son, admired brother, fun loving uncle, and sought after friend. Richard was a retired Army Sergeant and served his country with pride. He was a sportsman, a beachgoer, a flutist, a music lover, and more.   He had a gentle heart that he shared with anyone, and the love for his family was unconditional.  He will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved him.

Richard is survived by his wife, Krystal Allen; children, Hazel, Charlene, and Alexander Allen; parents, Lucio Morales (Alina Del Portal) and Melinda Hazel Allen; siblings, Brian Alvarado (Megan), Leonardo Villalobos (Hanne), and Albert Diaz; paternal grandmother, Maria Morales; parents -in-law, Anthony “Tony” and Marjorie Downum; brother and sisters-in-law, Raymond Downum, Melanie Osborn (Harley), and Morgan Downum; uncle, Thomas Richard Downum; and nieces and nephews, Luke Osborn, Faith Downum, Byron Vincent Alvarado, and Henry Michael Alvarado. The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 22, 2021, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a chapel service to be held at 11:30 AM.   Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
