Richard Joseph Forcelle was born on March 18, 1948, to Ernest and Elsie (Trahan) Forcelle and passed away in Corpus Christi on February 14, 2024. He was raised in Silver Bay, Minnesota before enlisting into the Navy in 1967 where he served 26 years. While in the Navy he served on the USS Constellation CV64 from Sept 1969 until May 1970 (deployed to Vietnam conflict), USS Forrestal CV59 in 1971 & 1978, USS Independence CV62 in 1975 to 1976, USS Kitty Hawk CV63 in 1981 & 1984 and the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN 69 in 1991 & 1992, was stationed at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach and Coronado Naval Air Station in San Diego before retiring in 1993 as a Chief Petty Officer E7 with a rank of Aviation Ordnance Chief (AOC). After retirement from the Navy, he worked in the Sheriff’s Department in Virginia Beach, VA until moving to Minneapolis. There he performed various security jobs, notably at the St. Paul Hotel in St. Paul, MN.

Rick enjoyed baseball and track in his teens, was an avid sports and Vikings fan, loved bowling, traveling with his wife Carol and spending time with his friends at the local VFW and American Legion in Corpus Christi, TX.

Rick is preceded in death by his father, Ernest (Ernie) Forcelle. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; three children, Kevin (Minoka) Forcelle, McAlester, OK; Jenny (Forcelle) Hestad, Newport News, VA; RJ Forcelle, Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, Kellie (Corbin) Minney, Jessica Forcelle, Michael Forcelle, Alexis Lemon, and Logan Melvin; three great grandchildren, mother, Elsie (Trahan) Forcelle; siblings, Judy Miller, Barb (Craig) Benson, Roger Forcelle, Sharon (Gary) Knutson, Theresa (Jeff) Lashyro, Diane (Craig) Weinmann, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Christus Spohn Shoreline, Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital, and Angel Bright Hospice for providing care and compassion during his last few months of life.

Rick’s burial service will be held on Monday, June 17 at 2 pm at the Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery followed by a gathering at the American Legion in Corpus Christi, Texas.
