Richard Emilio Garza

Richard Emilio Garza passed away on June 14, 2021 at the age of 88.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio Garza and Celia Martinez.

Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bertha Garza; children, Gail Valadez, Christine Schwanbeck, Richard E. Garza, Cristina Garza, and Liza (Eric) Jimenez; grandchildren, Christopher Valadez,  Richie Valadez, David Schwanbeck, Raquel Garza, Alysa Brady, Camerin Jimenez, and Matteo Jimenez; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Lydia (Adolfo) Arispe, Reynaldo (Sonia) Sanchez, and Emilio (Amelia) Garza; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port; with a rosary to be recited at 12:30 PM. The rosary will be live streamed.  Rite of Committal and Interment with full military honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
