Richard Salvador Rodriguez

Richard Salvador Rodriguez passed away on April 4, 2020 at the age of 45.  He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all whom knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Rodriguez.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Donna Rodriguez; children, Richard Rodriguez, Jr., Deonna Rodriguez, and Jacob Rodriguez; mother, Nelda (Carlos) Garcia; siblings, Leonard (Inez) Rodriguez, Stephanie (Abraham) Jimenez, and Jennifer (Robert) Vega; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Richard will be remembered for his love of football. He was a devoted Houston Texans fan and he hated the Dallas Cowboys. Richard loved reminiscing about his old football days at Cunningham Middle School and playing street football with his neighborhood friends who were like family. Richard loved playing softball at Grandstands with his brothers and recently played wheelchair basketball with the C.C. Rimz. Richard coached little league baseball for many years at Universal Little League where he met life-long friends. Richard loved to joke around, pick on his little sisters, and was a complete prankster. Richard was the life of the party and always brought a smile to everyone’s face. But, he also knew just what to say in the time of need; he was very caring and always saw the positive side to whatever life threw at him. At the end of the day, Richard loved settling down with his wife and children watching movies, binge watching tv shows on Netflix, BBQing, taking family trips, and exploring new places.

On behalf of the family, we’d like to thank Dr. Karla Perez and all the staff at WellMed and Dr. Amber Kaldas and all the staff at U.S. Renal Care, who helped make his dialysis days a lot smoother. A very special thank you to his mom and dad for always taking him to and from doctor appointments and dialysis. He loved you both dearly!

Family will have a private service at a later date.

In an effort to comply with the state and local government guidelines regarding gatherings during this difficult time and to slow the spread of COVID-19; Treviño Funeral Home will allow 10 family members/friends to attend funeral services in our facility.
