Richard Wayne (Ricky) Pancoast left this earth to be with the Lord on November 21, 2023 at the age of 56. He was born to Parents Kenneth and Elizabeth Pancoast on December 1, 1966 in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Ricky graduated from Ingleside High School in 1985. He joined the U.S. Navy in January 1986. After Boot Camp, he was sent to Aviation Structural Mechanics School in Millington, Tenn., he graduated first in his class, and as such, was given his choice of Duty Stations. He chose North Island Naval Air Station, in Coronado California. (This was literally across the street from Miramar Naval Air Station which was the "Top Gun" fighter training, and "Navy Seal " Training facility for the U.S. Navy at that time. He remained there for the duration of his 4-year enlistment.
After his discharge, he went to work for General Dynamics Aviation in San Diego, Calif., for approximately 1½ yrs. until he got caught up in a massive down-turn in the Aviation Industry resulting in Nation-wide lay-offs. Due to low seniority, he was let go. Ricky returned home in 1992. He worked for several Engineering companies in the area, went into business with a friend for a few years, and eventually went to work for Kiewit Off-Shore Services (Engineering Dept.) in 2013. He loved his job and his co-workers at Kiewit.
Ricky was a dedicated parishioner at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown, TX, where he received his sacraments. He was more of a behind the scenes type of guy who was always willing and happy to help with everything and anything the church and fellow parishioners needed.
Survivors, left to cherish his memory, are his Mom and Dad, two sons, Trevor and Brett, Stepdaughter Jerin Garza, two sisters - Melody S. Cook (James) of Orange, Texas and Stephanie C. Stover (Jerry) of New Bethlehem, PA., Ricks girlfriend of 5 years, Ms. Imelda Chapa of Robstown, Texas, Along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 26, 2024, at 2pm, at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery (9974 1-37 Corpus Christi, Texas 78410). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Military Service Detachment at the cemetery, or to the charity of your choice.
