Obituary

Robert Ruiz was called home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Margarita Ruiz.

He joined the Army National Guard and proudly served his country for 10 years. Robert was a logistics operator by trade for Interstate Grain Corporation. He enjoyed rock-n-roll music, fishing, and riding his motorcycle, but the hobby he enjoyed most was watching football and he was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. Robert was most known for his charismatic and fun-loving attitude.

A devoted son, father, and friend, Robert Ruiz lived a life defined by service, strength, and an unwavering love for his family. He proudly served his country with honor, and that same sense of duty and loyalty carried into every part of his life.

Robert was a hardworking and dependable man who will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strength, kindness, generosity, and the love he gave so freely.

Robert is proceeded in death by his beloved mother, Margarita Ruiz Benavides.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years and mother of his children, Linda Ruiz; his three children, Joe Robert (Vanessa) Ruiz, Gilbert (Ebony) Ruiz, and Stephanie Ruiz; his beloved grandchildren, Sebastian Ruiz and Katerina Ruiz; as well as numerous cousins.

His greatest joy was his family and the love, traditions, and memories he shared with them will continue to live on through the generations he leaves behind.

Robert’s family will receive condolences on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word to begin at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening in the chapel.

Until we meet again, may he rest peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord.
