Roberto Sarmiento

Roberto Sarmiento, "El Popo", finished his journey on earth on May 8, 2013. Roberto lived in California for most of his years and was very adventurous and loved meeting new people. He lived his life so freely. Roberto loved the outdoors and he enjoyed all sports, especially baseball. Roberto will live forever through his interesting stories and he will be dearly missed by all whom knew him. He joins in heaven his brother, Ray Sarmiento; uncle, Arturo Galan; father, Rafael Sarmiento; brother-in-law, Ruben Avila; and other loved ones. He leaves behind his loving son, Robert (Lily) Sarmiento, Jr.; six beautiful granddaughters in California; mother, Manuela Sarmiento; brothers, Rafael and Roger Sarmiento; sisters; Ester Moreno, Amelia Sanchez, Rachel (Rudy) Canchola, and Rosie (Tony) Medellin; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The Sarmiento family would like to thank the staff at Odyssey Hospice for the special care given to Roberto during his final days. The family will be receiving friends at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port, on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm; with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 pm. A funeral chapel service will be held at Trevino Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 10:00 am. Internment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
