Rodolfo “Rudy” P. Gamez

Rodolfo "Rudy" P. Gamez passed away on April 7, 2016, at the age of 66. He proudly and honorably served his country in the Army, and after many years retired as a Diesel Engine Mechanic. Rudy enjoyed his time with family, especially his grandchildren; he loved life, taking weekend drives, and had a great love and passion for raising and tending to his animals. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Gamez; son, Rodolfo Gamez II; parents, Alfonso and Elma Gamez; brother, Arnulfo "Nufe" Gamez; nephew, Abel Chapa II. Rudy is survived by his son, Alfonso (Erica H.) Gamez; daughters, Monica (Danny R.) Gamez, Elisa Gamez, and Lisa (Dylan) DeReese; sisters, Elva Chapa, and Mary (Abel) Chapa; eight grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, April 10, 2016, from 4pm to 9pm, at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St.; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6pm. Rites of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, April 11, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery. Services under the direction of Bobby Trevino.
