Roger Gerard Leblond, 77, a native of Aldenville, Massachusetts, and 32-year resident of North Padre Island, was called to his heavenly home on February 16, 2025. He passed into Eternal Life surrounded by his loving family in Burleson, Texas. Roger was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on October 13, 1947, the second eldest of four children born to Henri Leblond and Rita (Breault) Leblond.
He was raised in Aldenville, Massachusetts with his two brothers, Gerry and Henry, and sister, Diane, where he attended St Rosa de Lima and graduated from Precious Blood High School in 1965. Roger later furthered his education at Western New England College (now University), where he played tennis, and served in the Massachusetts National Guard. He married Celine Bernadette Bouthiller of Chicopee, Massachusetts on May 23, 1970, before finally settling in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts where they had five children together.
In January 1981, Roger and Celine moved the family to Texas and quickly settled in Burleson where they were active participants in raising all five children in the Burleson Independent School District, often serving as active volunteers in both tennis and gifted and academic programs. Over the years, Roger worked at First of Fort Worth, Interfirst, and Colonial Savings in Fort Worth before moving down to Corpus Christi in the early 1990s to work at Pacific Southwest Bank. A pioneer in banking operations and digital banking applications, Roger was instrumental in bringing new technologies to banking across the state while developing some of the most advanced banking teams of its day, implementing the use of electronic processing and imaging to enhance the user experience.
In 1995, with the youngest child’s graduation from high school, Celine finally left Burleson to join Roger and settle in Corpus Christi, fulfilling a lifelong dream of theirs to live on the water near the beach. Over the next 10 years, time was split between the home on North Padre and an apartment in McAllen as he finished his professional career with the team at Lone Star Bank. Most recently, Roger was active in the Corpus Christi Tennis Association, serving as President for three years while also staying active in competitive tennis himself. Regardless the location or company, Roger most cherished his five children- Lisa, Scott, Andrea, Steven, and Nicole. Like his wife, Roger’s real treasures in life were his fifteen grandchildren (three with each child), and most recently, his great-grandson.
Roger was predeceased by his father and mother, and his loving wife Celine who departed for her Heavenly Home on July 23, 2018. He leaves behind his older brother Gerry Leblond, and younger siblings Henry Leblond and Diane Dame; his five cherished children and their loving spouses (known as “The Outlaws”)- Randy Woods, Becky Leblond, Mike Burgoyne, Amber Leblond, and Jeff Davault; fifteen treasured grandchildren- Reid (with wife Mallory), Taven (with wife Mary), Ashlin, Jake, Makenzie, Alyssa, Ben, Avery, Jadyn, Logan, Connor, Mykayla, Will, Nolan, and Carter; and his littlest bundle of happiness- great grandson Maddox. Along with family, Roger leaves a countless number of friends, athletes, and work associates across the country.
Roger’s life will be celebrated by family and friends with a Mass at Saint Andrew by the Sea on North Padre Island on June 14, 2025 at 10:00am, with a reception following at Doc’s. All those attending are asked to honor Roger’s request and wear “Beach formal”- polo style shirt, shorts, and nicest sandals/ flops. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
