Rolando C. Lopez

Rolando C. Lopez, a man of deep faith and boundless love, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Rolando Lopez was born on August 2, 1949, and is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo Lopez and Adelina Canales Lopez.  He is survived by his siblings, Rene Lopez, Ricardo Lopez, and Yolanda Falcon; his spouse, Josefina Lopez; children; Roland Lopez Jr (Monica) and Juan Lopez (April); grandchildren, Anthony James Lopez, Marcus Lopez, Clarissa Florence Lopez, Marissa Monique Lopez, and Juan David Lopez; and great-grandchildren, Ivy Marie Lopez and Nylah Evelyn Lopez.  His life was a testament to the power of positivity, and his legacy continues through his loving family.

Rolando was a devoted member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he served as an usher. Rolando always brought a smile to your face and made you feel loved. He was a delight to be around, known for his corny jokes and sayings. He had a love for sports and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar.

He honorably served in the US Army, dedicating himself to the values of duty and service which he carried throughout his life. He served in the Vietnam War where he picked up smoking to keep himself warm, ultimately leading to the cause of his death.

His beautiful spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Waiting for him at the Gates to Heaven will be his father and mother. May they rejoice and watch over us.

Rolando’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:30 AM followed by Liturgy of the Word. Services will conclude that afternoon.
