Ronald Coleman Yates, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on October 30, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on June 24, 1946, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, Ronald, known for his loving, funny, and selfless nature, lived a life full of adventure, humor, and love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Earl “Billy” Yates and Bonnie Sue Holt Yates, and his brother, Johnny Carson Yates.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Esmeralda "Esmer" Yates; his twin brother, Donald Yates (Elizabeth); his son, Ron Eric Yates (Leanna); and his daughter, Robyn Lynn Joyner (Michael). His legacy continues through his granddaughters, Reba, Rebecca (Darrell), and Hilary; his grandsons, Joseph, Nawaf, Zeyad, and Tyler; and his great-grandchildren, Shayleigh, Jorden, Sookie, Olive, and Tyler Yates Jr. Each of them will remember him for his unique sense of humor, his warm embrace, and his unwavering love and support. Ronald's professional journey began under the tutelage of his father, "Mister Billy," who taught him the art of welding. His dedication and hard work led him to quickly rise through the ranks, becoming a supervisor and then an inspector. His work took him to various corners of the globe, including Scotland, Dubai, and Russia. Despite his extensive travels, he always found his way back home, carrying with him stories of his adventures and a renewed appreciation for his roots. In addition to his professional achievements, Ronald was a proud Army veteran, serving his country with honor and distinction. In his leisure time, Ronald enjoyed a variety of interests that reflected his vibrant personality. He loved traveling, spending quality time with his family, and trying his luck at casinos. A lover of music, he often filled his home with melodies that brought joy to those around him. He was also a master of the grill, his BBQs being the highlight of many family gatherings. A lover of nature, he found peace in his greenhouses, tending to his plants with a gentle hand. In the quiet moments, he could be found in front of the television, engrossed in his favorite shows. Ronald Coleman Yates lived a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His infectious laughter, his wise counsel, and his boundless love will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. His life serves as a reminder to us all to cherish the moments we have, to love without reservation, and to always find a reason to laugh.

Ronald’s family will receive condolences on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port Ave; with Prayer Service to begin at 11:30 AM and a Eulogy to follow at 12:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 12:30 PM for Rite of Committal and Interment with Full Military Honors at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
