Rosalinda Segura

Rosalinda Salinas Segura of Alice, Texas, passed away on January 5, 2023, at the age of 63. She was born on July 4,1959 to her parents, Gonzalo and Manuela Salinas. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Rosalinda had a big, loving heart and she was always willing to help anyone in need; giving advice and encouragement saying, “Never give up, be strong, have courage, everything is going to be OK”. She had a fun filled childlike spirit, singing, dancing, and joking while enjoying family gatherings. She was a cowgirl at heart and loved wearing her western attire. If you walked into her room, you would see all western decorations. She had coffee time with her sisters on a daily basis at 4:00 PM, and then would go shopping at Good Will or would go dumpster diving and alley picking in search of treasures. She loved and enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays. New Year’s Eve was her favorite holiday and it was a tradition to celebrate with her family and all her sisters with fireworks, singing, and happily shouting out her “gritos” of joy. Rosalinda will always be remembered for the great love she had for her family and of course, for the loves of her life, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered for her love of God and giving testimony of her faith through her good deeds and actions. She was preceded in death by her father, Gonzalo M. Salinas; sister, Sylvia Ann Salinas; maternal grandparents, Luis and Eusebia Lopez; paternal grandparents, Antonio and Guadalupe Salinas; aunt, Martha Lopez; and in-laws, Rito and Alicia Segura. Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Ruben Segura Sr; sons, Ruben Segura Jr, Jojo Segura, Billy Segura; daughters, Ruby Linda Segura, Jennifer Segura, Rebecca (Jose) Segura, and Rosalee Segura; mother, Manuela Salinas; brothers, Michael (Clarita) Salinas and Gonzalo (Esperanza) Salinas Jr; sisters, Guadalupe (Ruben) Villarreal, Maria E. (Claudio) Soliz, and Judith (Rene) Gonzalez;  grandchildren, Ruben Segura III, Lorenzo Jr, Joseph, Gabriel (Jayden) Rodriguez, Sophia and Ivan Cruz Zamarripa, Adrianna, Oscar III, Maribel, Karina, and Marysol Mendez; great-grandchildren, Arielle and Gabriel "GR" Rodriguez Jr; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, at Trevino Funeral Home 120 E. Front St., Alice, TX; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:30 AM followed by Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Roberson-Collins Cemetery.
