Ruben Garcia

Ruben Garcia passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the age of 67 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Ruben was born in Alice, Texas but grew up in Sterling, IL until relocating back to Alice later in life.  He spent most of his career as a laborer with a lot of talents until retiring a few years ago.  He was the jokester of the family who loved to make everyone laugh.  He liked watching movies and was always eagerly awaiting the new releases to come out.  Ruben loved being around his family and friends all the time.  He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ruben was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Gonzalez Garcia; sisters Joey Greer and Edna Boyer; and brother, Jose Garcia.

Ruben is survived by his father, Ernesto R. Garcia Sr.; siblings, Gloria G. Chaidez, Ernesto (Cheryel) Garcia Jr., Norma L. (Craig) Nelson, Amanda Garcia (Billy Woosley), and Richard J. (Alice) Garcia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 2105 Mangrove Dr;, Portland, TX  78374.  Another celebration of life will be held in Illinois at a later date.
