Ruben V. Sandoval passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024, in George West, Texas. He was born on April 1, 1948, in San Diego, Texas, to his parents Manuel and Estefanita Sandoval. Ruben's life was a testament to hard work, creativity, and dedication to family. Ruben's early education took place at St. Francis de Paula Elementary Catholic School, where he was known for his curious mind and helpful nature. He graduated from San Diego High School, where he forged friendships that lasted a lifetime. A self-employed mechanic, Ruben was a jack of all trades. His skilled hands could fix anything from a leaky faucet to complex electrical issues. His passion for automobiles, especially his 1965 Maroon Mustang, led him to restore old cars and racing cars, a hobby that filled his garage with both history and horsepower. Ruben's adventurous spirit also took him on the open road as a cross-country truck driver, a job that satisfied his love for travel and exploration. Ruben was a dedicated hard working family man, who was always attentive to the needs of his loved ones. His grandchildren, Zayne Michael Reyes, Levina Ezara Reyes, Alivia Teresa Gonzalez, Adiella Rae Sandoval, and Luca James Sandoval, were the light of his life. He beamed with pride at every opportunity to spend time with them, cherishing each moment and instilling in them the value of family unity. Ruben's interests extended beyond his work. He was an avid reader of western history, loved to listen to music, and dancing was a joy he never outgrew. His laughter and sense of humor will forever be remembered.
Ruben will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The memories he created, the lives he touched, and the lessons he taught will continue to resonate with his family, friends, and community.
Ruben is proceeded in death by his parents Manuel and Estefanita Sandoval; infante son Jaime Sandoval; brother, Juan (Pola) Sandoval; sisters, Maria Consuelo Garcia, Elma Casso, and Ramona Guzman; in-laws, Raul Juarez, Evangelina (Francisco) Garcia, Gavino Coronado, Dora Ramos, Martin Rodriguez, Jesus (Aurora) Ramos, Ester Ramos, Albino Ramirez, Jesus Guerrero, and Jesus Ramos Jr..
