Rudy De La Cruz Sr., a cherished family man, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, in his hometown of Corpus Christi, TX. Born on June 17, 1976, Rudy's life was a testament to the enduring spirit of love, dedication, and joy. Rudy's journey began in Corpus Christi, where he was born to Herlinda and the late Jesse De La Cruz Sr. His early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the adventures that the Texas coast had to offer. Rudy's passion for the outdoors and his love for the Dallas Cowboys were only matched by his devotion to his family and the pride he took in the cars he owned and worked on throughout the years. A loving husband, Rudy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Soila De La Cruz, whose memory continued to inspire him every day. Together, they raised a family that was the center of Rudy's world. He is survived by his adoring children, Rudy De La Cruz Jr. (Stacy), Mary Jane De La Cruz, and Faith Ann De La Cruz. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Sophia Soila De La Cruz and Diego Silas Favela, who brought immense joy and laughter to his life. Rudy's siblings, Paul, Louis, and Jesse De La Cruz Jr., along with his sister Lydia De La Cruz, will fondly remember their brother's hearty laughter and the love he had for a good BBQ with family and friends. His mother, Herlinda De La Cruz, will cherish the memories of her son, whose strength and compassion were a beacon of light for all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Rudy De La Cruz Sr., we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a man dearly loved. His spirit will forever be a guiding force in the lives of those he leaves behind. Rudy's memory will be eternally cherished, and his influence will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Rudy’s family will receive condolences on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave.; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM that evening. A Chapel Services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Treviño Funeral Home followed by Rite of Committal and Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
