Rufino L. Menjares Sr. passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. Born on August 26, 1946, Mr. Menjares lived a life marked by warmth, passion, and devotion to family and friends.

Throughout his years, Rufino found joy in simple pleasures that brought him closer to those he cared about. He was known for his love of playing billiards with friends at the Lindale Senior Center, where his competitive spirit and camaraderie were well admired. Rufino also delighted in dancing, an expression of the vibrant spirit that animated his life. His enthusiasm extended to watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys, enjoying movies, and most importantly, savoring the company of his family.

Rufino’s life was one of meaningful connections. He is survived by his son, Rufino Menjares; his stepson, Manuel Guzman; his stepdaughter-in-law, Gracie Guzman; his stepdaughter, Mary Ann Guzman Mora; and stepson, Rummy Guzman. Their presence is a testament to the enduring bonds he nurtured and the legacy of love he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Felicita Menjares; his wife, Irma Menjares; common law wife, Natalia Guzman; his daughter, Diana McGee; and his stepsons, Rene Guzman and Michael Guzman. These losses were deeply felt but underscore the richness of a life full of enduring relationships.

Rufino’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St @ Port Ave, with the Holy Rosary to begin at 6:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
