Sabastin Xavier Martinez, 18, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Sabastin was born on February 25, 2003 in Corpus Christi, TX to his parents, Teresita Sanchez and Xavier Martinez.
Sabastin was a 2021 graduate from West Oso High School. He was well known as the “Terminator” on the varsity football team. He was also part of the powerlifting team where, just this past year, he qualified to advance to the regionals where he placed top 15 out of the entire region maxing out on deadlift at 475, 330 on bench, and 500 on squat. Sabastin loved being around all his teammates and never hesitated to go above and beyond for them because he knew they would do the same for him.
Xavier enjoyed working out with his friends; whether it was once or twice a day, as long as it was 7 days a week. He loved watching football, especially when his two favorite rivalries would play. Whether it was his sister’s favorite team, the Washington Redskins, or his pops favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, he would always be ready to bet that his team, the Philadelphia Eagles, would come out on top.
Sabastin also loved listening to music. His favorite rappers were Kevin Gates and Young Boy Never Broke Again. He loved spending time with both his nephews whom he loved very much, especially when they would help him attract the honeys.
He will be remembered for his radiant smile, so the ladies would say, and his contagious unique personality; he could be both intimidating and soft at the same time. He was the best son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend anyone could ever ask for. Sabastin was a selfless family man who would have one day made a phenomenal husband and father.
Sabastin was greeted at the heavenly gates by his grandparents, Fernando Martinez, Ana Maria Moreno, Emilia Rivas, and Elias Rivas; aunt, Lucretia Martinez; and MX uncles, Miguel Rubio and Ruben Bueno.
Sabastin leaves behind his parents, Teresita Sanchez and Xavier Martinez; sister, Sierra Sanchez; nephews, Amias and Silece Haywood; MX brothers, Simon Ochoa, Jesus Moreno, and Albert Garcia; grandmothers, Anita Rivas and Lucretia Martinez; aunts and uncles, Moreno Family (Laura, Juana, and Chevo), Galvan Family (Edward, Angel, and Peanut), Martinez Family (Yancy and Jessica), and Rivas Family; and numerous cousins and extended family and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, June 18, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port; with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM.
