Samuel C. Cuevas Sr

Samuel C. Cuevas, Sr. passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023, at the age of 94 in Corpus Christi, TX. He will be dearly missed by the ones who knew and loved him.

He was born October 9, 1928, to Manuel Perez Cuevas and Eva Castillo Cuevas in Corpus Christi, TX.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Eva Cuevas; daughter, Christina Cuevas Green, sisters, Ruth Reyes, Eva Garcia, Sulema Rios; and his brother, Adam Cuevas.

He is survived by his sister, Naomi Cuevas Cardona; son, Samuel Cuevas, Jr.; daughter-in- law, Gretchen Cuevas; grandchildren, Carrie Cuevas, Jack Cuevas, and Jackie Cuevas (Jen Margulies); great-granddaughter, Avital Cuevas; nieces, Samantha Cuevas Gonzalez (Rich) and Laura Cuevas; great nephew, Trevor Gonzalez (Norell); great niece, Chelsea Anderson (Preston); and great great niece, Luna Anderson.

Samuel served in the United States Marine Corp for 12 years. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant after he served in the Korea conflict for 2 years.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his care provider, Richard Nava, for all the years that he looked after Samuel.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 9:30 AM, a funeral cortege will depart the funeral home for Rite of Committal and Interment at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
