San Juanita Gonzalez
August 5, 1952 – May 24, 2026
San Juanita “Mana” Gonzalez, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, surrounded by love and faith. Born on August 5, 1952, in Alice, Texas, to Felipe and Josefa Gonzalez, San Juanita lived a life grounded in faith, humility, and deep devotion to her family. She was known for her gentle spirit, her kindness, and the quiet way she cared for those around her. She found joy in simple daily blessings and shared love generously with everyone she met.
Her favorite pastimes included playing chalupa with family and friends, a tradition that brought laughter, connection, and lasting memories, as well as cross-stitching crafts, which reflected her patience, creativity, and care.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Josefa Gonzalez; her sister, Irene Cantu (Rafael Cantu); her brothers, Guillermo (Rose) Gonzalez and Federico Gonzalez; and her niece, Laura Cantu.
She is survived by her niece, Josie Garcia, and Josie’s husband, Dr. Robert Garcia. After the passing of her sister, Irene Cantu, San Juanita moved in with Josie and Dr. Garcia, where she made her home and was lovingly cared for. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.
San Juanita’s life was a reflection of faith, love, and quiet strength. While her absence leaves a deep void, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
