San Nicomedes "Nick" De La Paz Ir., age 73, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went to our Lord on the evening of February 5, 2022.
Nick was born in San Diego, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. San Nicomedes and Juanita De La Paz on August 11, 1948. He went to school at Wynn Seale Junior High. Nick went on to marry Aurora Cisneros on April 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He graduated from Texas State Technical College as an American Welding Society-Certified Welding Inspector. Nick worked for Merrell Lease Service in Gregory, Texas and as Welder and Certified Welding Inspector independently for over 40 years. He was involved in the Men's ACTS group at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Corpus Christi. He was a 32nd degree Freemason and was a distinguished musician; he played bajo and performed vocals and introduced his brothers, sons, and many ambitious people to their successful music careers. Although a small-framed man, he was referred to as a gentle giant and was very well respected within his circle of family, friends, and community. Nick never missed a day of work in his entire life, he didn't have to, never.
Nick is preceded in death by his wife, Aurora Cisneros De La Paz; his parents, Nick and Juanita De La Paz Sr.; his sister, Oralia De La Paz; and his son, Alejandro De La Paz all of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Nick is survived by his daughter, Cynthia De La Paz; his sons, San Nicomedes (Bernadette) De La Paz III and Timo De La Paz; his grandchildren, Roland, Matilda, Gabrielle, Teresa, Trey, Nick IV, Cheyenne, Michael, Emily, Christine, Jada, Alex, and Angelina; numerous great-grandchildren; his siblings, Evangelina Morales, Maximo (Rosalia) De La Paz, Adan De La Paz, Teresita (Gilbert deceased) Gonzales, Idalia (Josue) Ybarra, George De La Paz, and Miss Rebecca De La Paz; his nephews and nieces, John M., Luis, Denise, Claudia, Robert, Ryan, Vanessa, April, Adam, John L., Tracie, Eric, Josh, Yvette, Michael, Persephone, Christopher, and Giorgina; and his puppy, Speedy.
Pallbearers will be those who would be honored to carry him to his resting place.
The family of San Nicomedes De La Paz Jr. wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses, doctors, hospice, and his family who cared for and prayed for him until his departure. May you all be blessed.
