Sonia Elizabeth Carew

Sonia E. Carew, 81, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Maple Shade, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2012. Mrs. Carew was a graduate of Moorestown High School in New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Betty(Philipino) Smith; sons, Carl and Barry Cardwell; grandchildren, Julie and Barry Cardwell Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Robert L. Carew; children, Craig (Yancy) Cardwell of Mt. Holly, NJ, Sandra (Kevin) Stark of Bordentown, NJ, Jane (John) Flood, of Williamstown, NJ, Margaret D'Amico, of Williamstown, NJ.; treasured grandchildren, Stacy Cardwell of Salem, NJ, Kenneth (Kristen) Vener of West New York, NJ, Dylan (Jessica) Cardwell of Wayne, Pennsylvania, Bryan Cardwell of Salt Lake, Utah, Erika (Justin) Reilley of Pennsauken, NJ, Shannon Flood of Patterson, NJ, Devon (Christopher) Collins of Sicklerville, NJ, Robert (Ashley) Cardwell of South Colby, Washington, Daniel Cardwell and Lydia Cardwell of Maryland; precious great-grandchildren, Shea, Alexander, Benjamin, Alexander, Rian, Julianne, Nathan, Brynn and Evelyn; along with countless other family and friends who were blessed to know her. Sonia loved to laugh, be with friends and family, travel, sew, golf, bowl, paint and of course go to yard sales. For many years Sonia was a volunteer at Bay Area Hospital and Member of Senior Friends. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Worship, 710 Holly Rd. on September 4, 2012 at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice at 5350 S. Staples St. Suite 400, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411. Donations are dispersed to families in need during hospice care.
