Sonya Estrella Munoz

Sonya Estrella Muñoz passed away on July 6, 2019 at the young age of 31. She loved being with her children and taking them to parks, loved to Bar-B-Que, and being at friends and family gatherings. She was a loving fiancé, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Sonya will be deeply missed by all whom loved and knew her.

Sonya is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Manuel Muñoz; maternal grandfather, Benito “Benny the Blood” Flores; uncle, Samuel Joseph Muñoz; and aunt, Rose Mary Vera.

Among those left to cherish Sonya’s memories are her fiancé, Gilbert Saldaña; children, Jason Powell, Sunny Powell, Cilvio Powell, Paulina Guardiola, Nayeli Saldaña, Simon Saldaña; parents, David (Anna) Muñoz and Esmeralda (Mario) Ramirez; paternal grandmother, Paula Muñoz; maternal grandparents, Margo (Rick) Roberts; siblings, Joshua Vela, Sammi Jo (Chuck Guerrero) Muñoz, Santana Muñoz, Sabrina Maldonado, David (Thalia) Muñoz, Jr, Anabel Munoz (Ivan Crossland), Isabel Munoz, Analicia Munoz, America Munoz, Daniel Munoz, Nicholas Munoz; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, July 15, 2019, at Treviño Funeral Home. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
