Steve Mata

Steve Mata, age 42, passed away on July 15, 2015. Steve AKA, "Q-Tip, Brother, Fab-5" was a proud Marine and a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Oscar Mata, and brother, Paul C. Armadillo, Jr. He leaves behind his loving mother, Rebecca M. Mata; sons, Justice O. Mata, Mark M. Mata; sisters, Janelle Mata, Christine (Joe) Trejo, Jo Lopez, Grace (Wally) Barrientos, Elizabeth Armadillo; brothers, John A. (Melissa) Mata, Aaron (Christy) Mata; numerous half-brothers, half-sisters, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. The family would like to give a very special thank you to his Tia's, Lucia, Maria and friends who have displayed in various ways their love, loyalty, commitment and support. The family will be receiving friends at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 3 pm to 9 pm; with a Prayer Service to be held at 7 pm. A funeral chapel service will be held at Treviño Funeral Home at 8:30 am on Friday, July 17, 2015; burial to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 10 am.
