Susan Mendez passed away peacefully leaving behind a loving family. A lifetime of memories will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Raul Saenz Mendez and Jacinta Polanco Mendez; her brother, Humberto Mendez; and her beloved husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Mathis Sr.

She is survived by her three sons, Richard (Andrea) Mendez, Roberto Coleman Jr., Jose Emilio (Amanda) Coleman; grandchildren, Destiny (Christian) Leal, Faith Soliz, Jonathan Mendez, Erik Mendez, Xavier Mendez, Roberto Coleman III, Cameron Coleman, and Eleanor Coleman; and her great-grandchild, Alayna Vera. She is also survived by extended family and many friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Susan and Ronnie shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories for more than 25 years. Their love and the life they built together were a beautiful part of Susan’s story.

Susan had a vibrant spirit and an infectious laugh that could be heard from afar. She had a way of bringing warmth, joy, and laughter to those around her. She especially loved spending time with her family and sharing special moments with her dear cousin, Esmeralda.

One of Susan’s greatest joys was being a grandmother. She loved to spoil her grandbabies and would often stop by simply to drop off gifts for them, always finding a reason to bring a little extra happiness into their day.

Susan will be remembered for her vibrant personality, infectious laughter, and, most of all, the immense love she had for her family.

Though she is no longer with us, her love will continue to live on through her sons, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives she touched.

She will be deeply loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered.

Susan’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM; with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Chapel Service will be held the following day, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery where Susan will be laid to rest.
