Sylvia (Cruz) Santos

Sylvia Cruz Santos passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at the age of 66 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Our mother was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the strong backbone of the family. She was a friendly and happy person who always welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and a loving heart, making you feel at home. She had the most beautiful smile and her laughter brought joy to those around her.

Sylvia is proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents, Candelaria Charles and Pedro Ortiz, and paternal grandparents, Carolina Arrellano Hinojosa and Epifanio Hinojosa.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her companion, Narciso Torres;  daughters Angelita (Saul) Alvarez, Debbie (Jaime) Aguirre, and Clementina Alvarez (Marco) Garza; parents, Raul A. and Angelita Cruz Sr.; sisters, Rosa (Raul) Madrigal, Diana (Rogelio) Martinez, and Nora (Juan) Trujillo; brothers, Raul (Hilda) Cruz Jr., Lauriano (Severa) Cruz, and Felix (Aurora) Cruz Sr.; and five (5) grandchildren, four (4) great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at Trevino Funeral Home,120 E. Front St.; with a Chapel Service to begin at 11:30 a.m. A funeral cortege for a Christian burial to New Collins Cemetery will follow.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Juan Trujillo, Miguel Alvarez, Marco Garza, Peter Camarillo, Alex Garza, and Santos Martinez.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
