Thomas Anthony Pettus

Thomas Anthony Pettus passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the age of 73.  He was born on November 16, 1947 to Boyd Thomas and Peggy Harrison Pettus.  Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, and friend.  Thomas will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Patrick Pettus; parents, Boyd and Peggy Pettus; in-laws, Jesus and Isabel Peña; and brother-in-law, Enrique Peña.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Margaret Pena Pettus; son, Marcus Anthony Pettus; sister, Nita (Robert) Gage; brothers-in-law, Jesus Pena, Ruben (Dora) Pena, Carlos (Sulema) Pena, and Jose Luis (Hermelinda) Pena; daughter-in-law, Amy Michelle Pettus-Windham (Christopher John); grandchildren, Thomas Blake (Sarah) Pettus, Logan Mitchell Pettus, Wyatt Alexander Pettus, Keegan Anthony Pettus, and Christopher Grant Windham; great-granddaughter, Brealyn Michelle Wingate; cousins, Sonja Smith and Judy Foster; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Rite of Committal with Full Military Honors will take place on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
