Tomas Figueroa Jr., passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas, on December 9, 2023, at the age of 72. Born on October 21, 1951, in Corpus Christi, TX, Tomas’ life was a testament to the enduring spirit of joy and the power of family bonds. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the sweet melody of life lived to the fullest. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shanon Figueroa; his nephew, Henry Figueroa Jr.; and his parents, Micaela and Tomas Figueroa Sr., Tomas' memory will be carried forward by those who survive him. His daughter, Marisol Arellano; sons, Tommy Figueroa and Daniel Tovar; sisters, Isaura Solomon, Josie Vela, and Frances Ramos; brother, Enrique Figueroa Sr.; and his adored two grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, who will continue to feel his presence in their hearts and lives. Tomas' passion for music and dancing was well-known, as he could often be found leading a lively two-step at family gatherings or humming a tune while working. His love for barbecues was matched only by his dedication to his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, a devotion that brought him and his loved ones together on many Sunday afternoons. The impact of Tomas' life was profound, and his absence will be deeply felt. Yet, those who knew him will find comfort in their memories, the sound of a familiar song, the warmth of a shared meal, and the camaraderie of cheering on the home team. As we say farewell to Tomas Figueroa Jr., we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a man dearly loved. His spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:30 AM followed by Rite of Committal and Interment with full military honors at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
