Valentina S. Garza

Valentina S. Garza age 90, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. She was born on September 30, 1922 in Gonzalez, Texas. She was the eldest child of the late Juan Bautista Salazar and Paula Flores. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized on April 13, 1935. She was a devout member of Primera Iglesia Bautista for over 60 years. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilberto Garza; and son, Gilberto "Butch" Abel Garza. Valentina leaves behind her loving children, Linda Esther Purswell, Lidia Elizabeth Moreno, Laura Enedelia Alvarado, Lucila Elvira Enderle, Lamar Evangelina Baca and Juan Kasiro Garza; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara at Port on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Eulogy Service to be held at 7:00 pm. A funeral church service will be held at Primera Iglesia Bautista at 1509 Tarlton St. at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2013; burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
