Valona Walker

Valona Walker, 90, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born December 7, 1923 in Lafayette, TX, she moved to Corpus Christi, in 1950. Valona was known for her red hair and beautiful smile. She had a strong faith in God. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to her family. She made everyone feel as if they were her "favorite" and loved each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally. She is preceded in death by her: parents, brothers, sisters, husband Byron, daughter, Dedra Martin, and grandson, Brian Baker. Valona leaves behind her loving children, Lavena (Larry) Halliburton, Rick (Phyllis) Walker, Tony (Elaine) Walker, Michael Walker; son-in-law, Clyde "Sonny" Martin; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara at Port on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 2 pm at Trinity Church of the Nazarene 6225 Weber Rd. A graveside service follow at 3:30 pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
