Velma May Walker Woodson

Velma May Walker Woodson passed away on January 8, 2018 at the age of 67. She had a radiant spirit which shined brightly when around family and friends. Although she only had two kids and one stepson, she was considered to be a “mother” to many more throughout her life; always with an open door and a warm smile to greet you.

Aside from being a loving mother, she had a wonderful sense of humor and possessed the ability to put a smile on everyone’s face with her charisma and charm. She will be remembered by many for her unyielding love, heartfelt laughs, and comforting hugs.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Joann Walker.

Velma is survived by her husband, Carl Woodson; sons, Brandon (Amy) Rose and Victor Newman; daughter, Gina Purcell; siblings, Leslie (Saskia) Walker, III., Nancy O’Donnell, and Sandy (Tom Vaughn) Feutz; grandchildren, Kylie Painter, Gabriel Painter, Mazzy Wilcox, Emma Rose, and Ella Rose; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Services will take place at a later date.
