William A. Copeland

William A. Copeland passed away peacefully on December 21, 2021. He was born on July 7, 1936 to Anton Placky and Essie Mae Smith in Dallas, Texas.

William was quiet man, educated as a Financial Advisor. His favorite pass time was reading; he would visit the local public library two or three times a week and would read three to five books a day.

He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. William will be truly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

William is preceded in death by his father, Anton Placky; his mother, Essie Mae Houston Smith; and his son, William (Little Bill) Copeland.

William is survived by his wife, Sharon Copeland; his sons, Charles Copeland and Eric Copeland; his daughter, Cean Tolleson; his brothers, Jay Arnold and Bob Arnold; his sisters Peggy Ray and Charlene Rocket; and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.

Funeral services are pending and will be held at Victory Light House in New Albany, Indiana where they will also be live streamed. William’s final resting place will be at Rest Heaven Cemetery in Bardstown, Kentucky.
