Zeferino Barrera

Zeferino Barrera passed away on November 23, 2018 at the age of 69. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Zeferino was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Maria Barrera; siblings, Jose Munoz, Felipe Munoz, Gregorio Munoz, and Dora Munoz Peña.

Zeferino is survived by his loving wife Luz Llamas Kartchner; sons, Frank Villanueva, Jr. of Houston, TX, Ernie (Kim) Llamas of Corpus Christi, TX, and Eric Llamas of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Monica (Nick) Veal of Houston, TX, Kathy (Robert) Moffett of Richardson, TX, and Veronica (Rock) Villanueva of Corpus Christi, TX; his beloved fur baby, Cheeto; siblings, Maria Elva Salinas, Andrea Ramirez, Maria Taylor, Gloria Armstrong, Hector Barrera, and Leonila Cavazos;16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, December 2, 2018, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. The funeral cortege will depart the chapel at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 3, 2018, to Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment with Military Honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
