Amelia A (Alvarez) Martinez

Amelia A. Martinez passed away on March 31, 2021 at the age of 86. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio Q. Martinez; son, Gregorio A. Martinez, Jr., granddaughter, Jessica Martinez; grandson, Baby Martinez; parents, Juan and Hortencia Alvarez; and siblings, Eusebio Alvarez, Juan Alvarez Jr, Adan Alvarez, and David Alvarez.

Amelia is survived by her children, Elizabeth M. Villegas, Aurelio A. Martinez, Sr. (Basila), and Javier A. Martinez; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings; Eva Livas of Corpus Christi, Frances Gonzalez of Houston, Enrique Alvarez of Corpus Christi, Josie Mendoza of Houston, and Juan Alvarez III of Corpus Christi; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

The family will receive condolences on Monday, April 5, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a rosary to be recited 7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, 1101 Bloomington St., at 10:30 AM; with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
