Arturo Martinez Obituary

Arturo Joe Martinez passed away on November 11, 2021, at the age of 80. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved him.

Arturo proudly served in the US Army for over 30 years; including 4 tours in Vietnam. He was a true Patriot who loved his country dearly. Arturo was a cook in the military as well as, a cook at Luby’s for many years. Also, he previously worked at Gulf Marine drilling. Arturo enjoyed music, cards, dominos, watching his favorite shows on TV, and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his wife and daughter with all his heart; but his greatest pastime was spending time with his grandsons. He was truly a family man that never hesitated to help anyone that needed him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Isidra P. Martinez.

Arturo is survived by his wife, Angelita Martinez; daughter, Angie Jo (Sergio) Sanches; grandsons, Abel Franco, Jr. and Abraham Franco; special sister, Marie Curiel; and extended family members and many friends.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Treviño Funeral Home.

Rite of Committal and Interment with full military honors will be held at a later date at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
