Dolphie Wilkey Obituary

Dolphie Mae "Sissy" Wilkey, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2023, at the age of 78. Born on March 3, 1945, to the late Adolf and Velva Dubose, Dolphie was a strong-hearted and caring woman who touched the lives of many.

Dolphie was raised on a ranch in South Texas, where she developed a deep love for nature and the outdoors. Her upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic, and she became a hardworking, free-spirited woman who valued the simple pleasures in life. She was known for her infectious laughter and her ability to find joy in every moment.

Dolphie's love for the outdoors was evident in her abundant garden, which was filled with beautiful plants, ponds, and flowers. She took great pride in creating a serene and welcoming space for her family and friends to enjoy. Dolphie's passion for gardening was matched only by her love for her family, whom she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Velva Dubose, and her brother, Johnny Dubose. Dolphie is survived by her three children, Ashley, Tarah, and Tisha; six grandchildren, Gage, Alyssa, Nathaniel, John Daniel, Roland, and Julian; and two brothers, Thomas and George Dubose. She also leaves behind many cousins and other loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Dolphie was a loving, kind, and passionate person who made a lasting impact on the lives of those who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will always remember the beautiful woman who brought so much joy to their lives.

In the words of her family, Dolphie was "an amazing mother and the most strong-hearted, caring person you would ever know." She was a pillar of strength for her loved ones, providing unwavering support and encouragement to her children and grandchildren as they navigated the challenges of life.

As a descendant of early South Texas settlers, Dolphie was proud of her rich heritage and the values that had been passed down through generations. She embodied the spirit of resilience, determination, and love that had been instilled in her by her ancestors.

Those who knew Dolphie will remember her as a loving, kind, and passionate person who was always there for her family and friends. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Dolphie Mae "Sissy" Wilkey will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the beautiful garden she lovingly cultivated, and in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness, warmth, and love. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the love of her family and friends.
