Eliza Garza Hernandez

Eliza Garza Hernandez passed away on February 13, 2021 at the age of 91. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, going to the casinos, and spending time with her loved ones. She loved her flowers, music, singing, and her red Buick. She will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sabina Hernandez Davila; grandsons, Johnny Davila and Salvador Martinez; and father of her children, Fidel Munoz Hernandez.

Eliza was survived by her daughters, MaryAlice (David) Mendoza Sr. and Janie Hernandez (Bill) Phelps; grandchildren, David (Jessica) Mendoza Jr.; Donna Mendoza (Marshall Lee) Rivas, Sr., Deliza Mendoza (Humberto) Cabrera, Esmeralda (Michael) Mays, Richard (Laura) Davila, and Lyndon Phelps; great-grandchildren, Jon Carlo Treviño, Victoria Mendoza, Cristian Joseph Morales, David Mendoza III, Marshall Lee Rivas Jr., Mason Rivas, Madison Alicia Rivas, Sierra Angel Mendoza, Ianna  Nicole Ahmuty Mendoza, Genesis Cabrera, Lillian Garcia Martinez, Matthew Davila, Ellyse Sabrina Rodriguez Davila, Nicholas Dominique Davila, Amanda Rose Davila, and Matthew Daniel Davila; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, February 22, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that evening and cremation will follow.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
