Esmeralda Martinez Obituary

Esmeralda Martinez passed away on August 31, 2020 at the age of 50. She was born February 28, 1970 and raised in Orange Grove, Texas. She enjoyed spending time with family and especially with the grandchildren; as well as attending church, singing, and making people laugh. She loved visiting the nursing homes and sharing God’s Word with everyone. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Michaela Ureste; maternal grandfather, Ismael Villanueva; maternal grandparents, Inocencia and Manuel Arellano; paternal grandparents, Elojia and Serafin Paiz; her mother-in-law, Elena Martinez; and brother-in-law, Raul Martinez.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Dean Martinez Sr.; daughter, Jessica Marie Paiz (Josh); sons, Daniel Dean Martinez Jr. (Monica),  Paul Anthony Martinez Sr. (Jessica); and Brandon Lee Martinez (Kirsten); father, Serafin Paiz Jr. (Dolly); mother Maria Louisa Paiz (Frank); sisters Diana Vargas (Fabian) and Crystal Ann Paiz; brothers, Serafin Paiz III and Ray Paiz; brother-in-law, Ruben Rodriguez; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, September 6, 2020, from 5 to 9 PM at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St.; with a Prayer Service to begin at 6 PM that evening. A Chapel Services will be held on Monday, September 7, 2020, at 10 AM at Treviño Funeral Home Alice followed by Interment at Orange Grove Pro Union Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: David Perez, Joshua Stewart, Michael Quilimaco Jr., Anthony Quilimaco, Gabriel Gonzalez, and Jesse Garcia.

Face masks must be worn and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
