Esperanza Pedraza a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed away on October 5, 2024, in her home surrounded by family. She fought a five yearlong battle with breast and ovarian cancer.
She was born to Maria Ramirez-Castro on November 20,1962, on a small ranch in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Later she moved to Corpus Christi where she met and married her soulmate, Ricardo Pedraza, of 38 years. They shared five children, Janet Fonseca (Ambrose), Jennifer Ramirez-Ayala (Gilbert), Jorge Ramirez, Melissa Pedraza-Garcia (James), and Erika Pedraza-Arnett (Micheal). She was the grandmother to 11 grandkids, Jordan, Kiara, Jenaly, Israel, Jesenia, Breanna, Makalah, Jeremiah, Jorge, Riley, and Delilah, and great- grandmother to Liliana and Angel.
She was one of eight siblings, Maria Elena Martinez (Feliciano), Juan Pablo Reyna + (Carmen), Maria J. Tovar, Dora Hernandez (Carlos), Zolia Reyna+, Alma Tovar, and Claudia Rodriguez (Eric). She had numerous nieces and nephews and one godson, Juan Pablo Reyna Jr.
She dedicated 30 years of her life working at the H-E-B factory warehouse where she gained skills and invaluable knowledge about production. The majority of her time was spent in the tortilla section, where she honed her skills in keeping track of production and assisting her coworkers in understanding the production line as a machine operator. She met and gained many friends. When she retired in 2017, she didn't hesitate to join her beloved husband Ricardo in running El Rancho Tortilla Factory. Together, they ensured the smooth operation of a successful family business. Ricardo and Esperanza were an inseparable couple, doing everything together from the moment they married. Esperanza always instilled values of hard work, resilience, and faith in God. Esperanza was one to speak and advocate for what she believed in and encouraged those to further their education and wellbeing, regardless of their background.
