Garland Tillman Neal was born in San Antonio, Tx on May 29,1961 to the late Vernon “Spot” Barnett and Barbara Jean Neal. He was educated in both public and private schools in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, Tx. He was raised on “The Hill” by his Beloved Late Grandmother, Senora A. Neal.
He enjoyed working with his hands and spent many years in construction. His most treasured employment was working for The Smith Family.
He had a passion and profound love for fishing and listening to good music. He adored helping others, cooking, laughing, and having a good time with family and friends. He was a people person, that NEVER met a stranger.
On October 30, 2023, He was welcomed at Heavens Gates by his parents, Vernon Barnett and Barbara Neal; grandparents, Senora A. Neal, Tillman Johnson and L.G. Neal; aunt, Katie Gertie.
Left to carry on his Legacy are his wife, Pamela Neal. His sons, George “Bubba” Gadison of Houston, Tx and Garland (Elizabeth) Rush of Corpus Christi, Tx. His Daughters, Amanda “Mandy” Clay (Darrell), LeChic Clay and Traenisha Clay of Dickinson, TX. One Sister, Senora (Robert) Griffin of Mesquite, Tx. Brothers, Jermaine Clay and Jeron Clay of San Antonio, Tx. His beloved grandchildren, Jonathan, Jaslyn, Taina, Kalki, Michael, Talia, Jada, Jordan, Jayden, JaNae and Josyah. Longtime Friends, Dewayne Duhart, Troy Smith and Lenard Taylor. Two special nephews, Devon Neal and Clarence Neal. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave. A Celebration of Garland’s life will begin at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that day.
